YEARS 8s CAMP

On the December 3rd. I got so excited to go camp at Rotorua with the Years 8s. We went on the bus and it took at least 3 hours to get there. On the way down we went to the Waikato Dam  to have lunch. We went to see the water but there was no water coming out. We got back on the bus and got to Rotorua in the afternoon.

After we arrived we went for a bush walk up the mountain and it took 45 min.

The next morning we went for a run around the camp. The 1st activity we went to was the hot mud pool. When we got there it was very hot with steam coming out. After that we went to see a act show about sheep at the Agrodome. It was very fun.

On the next day we went to the blue lake. We went for a long bush walk. The water was very cold. Tau, Melvin and I played water fights. After that we went to the pool to have another swim.

On the last day we went to the luge we went up the hill and come down on the luge. When I went  very fast down the hill I did a very big crash. After we went back to the bus to go back home. When we got to pt england school we were happy to come back home.

Trevor has to drive 422 km’s. He looks at his odometer and sees he has gone 289 kms. How much further has he got to go?

You start  with b289 first then you add 11 then that will be 300 then jump 122 and that will be 422. After you add 11+122=133.

Alex Tau Massive Cyclone Threatens Eastern India

In the east side of India there was a massive cyclone happening and close to half a million evacuated their homes because of the danger that they would die. They have named the cyclone Phailin for some reason.

It was their strongest cyclone to hit India and has washed away tens of thousands of mud and roof huts and was sent to seawater by the time the cyclone was over.

The Indian Ocean is considered called the cyclone hot spot. Some of the most deadliest storms in history have come through the bay of Bangal. Including a 1999 cyclone that killed more than 10,000 citizens.

Mahia's Mural

Mahia is an artist. She has been commissioned to paint a mural on wall of a company's warehouse. The company wants the mural to be abstract (not representational) and they want it to show the colours of their company logo. They have specified it needs to have 1/3 blue,  1/6 red, 1/12 yellow, 1/12 white 1/12 purple and 1/4  green. They want it to have 2 lines of symmetry (reflection)  and  a rotating and translating pattern somewhere.

Alexander and Mateo sentence starter

The moment I woke up. I discovered to my shock  and horror that i was the size of a small mouse ! Today was going to be a very interesting day indeed!

Once In a lifetime a discovered that I was the size of a mouse. Every single human looked exactly like a elephant.  Once I saw a CAT I ran as fast as I could I ran through and into a little gap so I don’t get squash. As I search through the hole I saw a piece of cheese I was worried that it might of been a trap.

Then I went up to the cheese as I said to myself should I go or shouldn’t I not. Then I  thought to myself I should go to the  cheese as I took  the  cheese I felt overloaded and full with energy. As I took a second bite I grew taller and taller and taller.

Alexander and Niuma IF I HAD SUPER POWERS

                                  What if I had a superpower?

Once upon a time there was a boy call Megamind and he saw a little rock on the floor. It was shining in his face and it looked like a baby blue colour. I walked over to pick it up and it changed me into a big Megamind hulk. I felt very strong, fast, powerful and I could fly very fast like a speeding rocket.

As I was flying I saw a big gangs blowing up the town then I zoomed straight down and punched the ground with one hit and everything was flying like a rock around in the road. Then the gangs look at Big Megamind Hulk and then the gangs started shooting him. Big Megamind Hulk was bulletproof and he start walking towards them so all the gangs start running away from him. Then Big Megamind Hulk ran fast to catch them,they all went to jail then the police say thank you for helping us and saving our town It ok.

They were both brought up in a mysterious forest nowhere to be found. They are both stranded on this island looking for a way to get back to their parents, having no idea how they got here. It was actually Stocky Rocky knocking over the chairs.  Silly Billy went to look around. Off they went again someone is waiting at the fence for them to come to him so he can take them into the wrong way. His name is Bad chad he want to steal their net books.

As I  fearlessly climbed  up the towering  mountain I felt sweat dripping down my hot boiling face. My course up the mountain was a treacherous challenge for me. As I  heaved up and over the  last rock of the mountain I was terrified. As I said to myself “I will fight and reach to my success “.

                                                                                                                                                                             

William Feather’s  message for us is to reach to be successful and never give up.Other people let themselves down by not trying their best. He’s trying  to tell us that we should  give it our all .

Reflection

Red

This was very fun week doing a movie about Michael Jackson.  My group Had lots of fun with smiles on their faces as we finished our movie.

Green

The most interesting part of our movie is having fun with our friends and making up funny stuff. It was totally worth it.

Black

That things that we did not enjoy is talking too much and not getting stuff finished. The other thing that we don’t like is when MELVIN mock’s around

Yellow

The thing that we enjoyed doing is filming with others and having fun. On the plus side we enjoyed watching ourselves.

White

The stuffed we learned about is Co-operating with each others. The other thing we learnt is to try and get stuff finished on time.

Blue

The thing we're going to do better is to not play around. The other thing is to try and Cooperate well

Training

On Tuesday Tevite and I went to Dunkirk Park, while we were walking it started to rain. We ran to the shop and got there just before we heard thunder. Then we walked to training, it was pouring down. The coach made us train anyway.

We practiced passing and tackling for a few minutes before a game. We split the team into halves, Jasma was on my side which was lucky because he got the first try. the final score was 20 - 5 to us. The other team was a bit slow but they were good at tackling. but we won because of our speed. The team came together and talked about our plan for saturday. We will be against varsity, that will be tough.

WILL.I.AM

Today was a cool day because will.I.am came to Pt England School. As soon as he sat down the kapa haka group came on the stage to do their performance. Then after that the hip hop group came on the stage to do their  performance.

After Will.I.am was talking because his poor family and how he never saw his Father in his life. His brothers and sisters were raised by just his mother. After he was talking about the year 8 going to college next year in 2014. He was saying that we need to have a dream for the future. He was also saying it was important to choose your friends well.

My Hoildays

During the holidays Kendrix and Tavite and I we went to the Tamaki Marist park. We did some tackling and some passing and some running drills. After that we had a game of rugby amongst our team.

Then we went home to have a shower and we had a big feed. We had a bacon and egg pie,chicken nibbles and taro. After that I play X:Box 360 and I play Black Ops 2.

Alex Term Reflection

Hi my name is Alex

Part. One

The highlights for this term is being training hard to be in the rugby team. I have been enjoying p.e everyday. I have been proud of my maths and writing and performing for fiafia. Practising in the Samoan group for Fiafia is what I have really loved.

Part. Two

What I have not enjoying is reading because there are too many words.

Part. Three

I think I have worked well with others in a group. I can share my ideas, and I don’t muck around. We have been getting our group work finished, like our 3P’s movie and our XFactor movie.

Part. Four

Next term my goal is to listen and to get my maths and my reading activities finished.

Sample Writing

The day had begun like a stormy night, as two kids named Logan and Tau. They were always against each other like a war was being fought between them. But now they are very scared. They were both in the sitting room corner in a little ball.

Alex and Auri rode their bikes home after training. They had decided to go the other way back home. Suddenly as they turned the corner they spotted an old spooky derelict house. Alex said,  ‘‘Yuk house. I’m going home now. ” But Auri told Alex to stay and not to go home. “Lets try and go inside,” said Auri.


When Auri and Alex walked up onto the steps one of the floorboards  had broken off. “Whew” said Alex as he quickly jumped over the hole. “That was lucky.”
They slowly opened the rusty old door and went into the spooky derelict house. Inside it was dark and dusty. All they could see were shadows and shapes. They saw a hole in the corner of the floor and inside was black. Next to the hole was a bucket of water. “Pooo,” Auri said “That bucket smells like old fish.


So Auri and Alex went to go up stairs to see if there is an chest. when they got up stairs
Alex was scared because rat was running past him. he run at the back of Auri. Then Auri saw a bedroom door. So they went to open the door Alex was scared.They went to look inside. inside was a chest sitting on the floor.
Then they got their bike and  went back home to tell their Mum and Dad that they sow a rusty old house and went in it .There Mum told them to go for a shower.

Waitangi

On Waitangi day my sister, my dog and I  went to the beach to have a swim. My dog and I were having a competition on who could get the ball first. My sister would throw the ball into the sea, while my dog and I ran after it. One time my sister threw the ball far in the sky, I dived to catch it but my dog jumped on me.
